It’s fundamental for me to play the music I love. It happens, I love music not written for Harp. Often I find among these pieces, passages I feel perfect for my instrument.
Sometimes it is just the question to put this music on the stand, add some fingerings and play it without changing anything.
Other times it’s like walking on a rope and try to do what seems impossible.
Sometimes it happens to create a new, unexpected sound-world and it’s possible to mark a bit more ahead the limit.
I consider arranging a form of composing and I could never live without.
In my musical adventures I’ve played everything, surely much more than what is published. Here is a short list:

Philip Glass:
One of the authors I transcribed and played more from 2007 on. After the CDs for the majors (2007 Philips, 2008 Decca) I finally had the opportunity to meet the composer and to present him the last CD devoted entirely to his music (2012 Amadeus Arte)

Arvo Pärt:
In my opinion, an author for harp. I try to convince him to write for harp and certainly I’ll work on his music in the future.

John Cage:
I love John Cage, his music for harp, for “any instrument” and the one for prepared piano. What is a prepared piano if not the harp in the piano prepared? I have studied a lot on the ‘preparation’ to transpose it on my instrument. The John Cage Trust has supported my project that has also become a CD for the anniversary of 2012. Happy Birthday John!

Harp Favourites & Baroque – CD Deutsche Grammophone 476 4149
In 2009, Universal asked me for a recording including famous pieces from Baroque repertoire. It seemed trivial to me to create another disk of famous adagios and themes, so I selected most of the scores that I love and facing with the impossibility of “reducing” the material I had, I decided to create multi-level arrangements, overdubbing and using different techniques for harp. I obtained a sort of symphonic harp, using all its colors and with utmost fidelity to the original score of these music masterpieces. A little quirk in the Baroque never hurts…
A version for solo harp of all works is also published in the collection “Baroque Harp” by Ut Orpheus.

Romanze Italiane

Per me è fondamentale suonare la musica che amo. Mi capita di amare anche musica non scritta per arpa e spesso tra questi brani ne trovo alcuni che sento perfetti per il mio strumento.
A volte, dunque, si tratta solo di mettere una partitura sul leggio, ditteggiarla per arpa e suonarla senza cambiare nulla.
Altre volte è come camminare su una fune facendo ciò che parrebbe impossibile.
A volte si crea un mondo sonoro nuovo e inaspettato e si può segnare qualche passo più avanti il limite.
Trovo l’arrangiamento una forma di composizione e non potrei mai farne mai a meno.
Nelle mie avventure musicali ho suonato di tutto, sicuramente molto più di quello che è pubblicato. Qui un breve elenco:

Nel 2009 Universal mi chiese una registrazione che includesse brani celebri del repertorio barocco. Mi sembrava banale creare l’ennesimo disco di adagi o temi noti, così sono partita dalle partiture che più amavo e di fronte all’impossibilità di “ridurre” il materiale che avevo ho pensato di creare arrangiamenti che avessero più livelli, sovraincidendo e usando tecniche diverse per arpa. Ho ottenuto così una sorta di arpa sinfonica che sfoggia tutti colori dello strumento restando fedele alle partiture originali di questi capolavori. Un po’ di bizzarria nel barocco non guasta mai…
Una versione per sola arpa di tutti i brani è anche edita con il titolo “Baroque Harp” da Ut Orpheus.
